Much / many
1- عادة يستخدما في السؤال والنفي
- Is the much milk in the fridge?
- Do you think many people will agree to the new law?
- I haven’t got much
- I don’t have many
2- في الجمل المثبتة يمكن استخدامهما في الاساليب الرسمية
- There is much concern about drug addiction in Egypt.
- I’ve read many stories about war victims.
ملحوظة: في الاساليب الغير رسمية يفضل استخدام a lot of / lots of
- I went shopping and spent a lot of / lots of money.
Much of, many of
لو جاء بعد much / many ادوات (a/an/the) اشارة (this-that) ملكية (my-your ..) ضمائر مفعول مثل (them-us) يجب وضع of قبل تلك الادوات…
- How many of them can participate in the festival?
- I can’t eat much of this
Too much + uncountable noun/ too many + plural countable
يمكن استخدام too قبل much/many لتعني اكثر من الضروري
- I bought too much We had to give some of it to the doorman.
- There are too many cars on the road. More people should use public transport.
So much, so many with a noun
يمكن استخدام so قبل much/many لتعني كمية كبيرة من شيء
- There’s so much milk in the kitchen.
- You have so many jobs to do.
As much as, as many as
- Try and find out as much information as you can.
- You can ask as many questions as you want.
A lot of, lots of
يستخدما في الأساليب الغير رسمية في السؤال والنفي والاثبات
- We’ve got lots of things to do.
- That’s a lot of
- There weren’t a lot of
- Can you hurry up? I don’t have a lot of
- Are there a lot ofgood players at your tennis club?
- Have you eaten lots ofchocolate?
Much, many, a lot of, lots of: negative questions
اولا: عند استخدام much/many في الاسئلة المنفية يتوقع المتحدث كمية صغيرة او عدم وجود كمية كبيرة من شيء
- Haven’t you bought much food? (No, I haven’t.)
ثانيا: عند استخدام a lot of /lots of في السؤال المنفي يتوقع المستخدم كمية كبير من شيء
- Haven’t you bought a lot of food? (Yes, I have.)
